Speed and Deeds #4 February

Reminder to self - This is a marathon not a sprint. 17 days after ordering broadband the service finally went live on 31st January. The connection is not fast. It will be fine for HD video streaming. Who knows one day OpenReach my install a superfast connection, which should be two or three times faster. Before I retired (last month) I used to 'do' this stuff - Average connectivity speed in the UK in 2022 was 72 Mbps. The joys of living in a rural area.

This week we also received the deeds and other legal information to confirm ownership of the house. This was a novelty, since previously they have been held by our mortgage companies. Planning permission for the house was granted on 28th January 1965.

The land was purchased by John France a doctor on 14th April 1965 from Abram Scarr, John Peacock and Malcolm Scott. This is confirmed by a proper old conveyance document wth green ribbons. Other documents suggest it was purchased for £5,000.
